In a surprising crossover event that challenges conventional predictions, the game developer has announced an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Questline Revealed

According to the formal statement, "A mysterious meeting leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where rumors of forbidden ceremonies and terrifying changes echo through the shadows." The storyline presents a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who charges the duo with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a secret group.

The adventure concentrates on "peculiar experiments and a terrifying foe" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Iconic Locations and Changes

The teaser showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser concludes with a striking moment showing a character, probably the hostage, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Prizes and Bonus Content

Players who successfully complete the mission will receive an special katana alongside multiple objects concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Titan-inspired costume for Yasuke
• Mikasa outfit for Naoe
• Exclusive arms
• Survey Corps mount

Latest Free Story Addition

This patch also adds the game's newest free story content, titled "The Enigma." This playful quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic abilities: Naoe introduces a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also includes a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.

The series previously showcased a 2020 collaborative story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
